Today's exploration of the term: Inker
What is an inker?
In comic books, this is a person who refines and enhances via inking over what the pencil drew/penciled. This is done either traditionally—with actual ink—or digitally. An inker does more than tracing; they define line weight, texture, and depth, bringing polish and clarity to the final. This gives them the name known as the finisher, like when adding additional detail to the penciled art that the penciler left out. Once the inking is done, the coloring and lettering are added next.
